Chris Thacker was born and raised in Austin, TX, and he spent seven years in the army as a cavalry scout. He came to Washington state in 2015 to visit a friend and decided to stay. He started working at Nash’s last July, and is learning about the seed and grain cleaning and storing processes.
“What I love about working at Nash’s is the opportunity to learn new things and work with amazing people,” he says. He certainly is learning a lot from grain and seed production manager Taylor McCormack, like operating the Crippen seed cleaner, the grain elevator, and bagging system. They are running nonstop at this time of year, as the grain and seed come off the fields.
In his free time, Chris likes to explore the Olympics and he has made it his goal
to trek every trail in the park. His other hobbies include yoga, photography, welding, cycling, hiking, and climbing. Chris sits on Steeple Rock in the photo at right.
